An example of this is a project in Holmen Paperboard, Workington, where we worked alongside the Client’s consultants advising on the process design of a plant to treat river water to a potable grade quality. The plant is designed to handle flows up to 25ml/d and requires the controlled dosing of four chemicals.
It comprises 28 off deep bed continuous sand filters, making it the largest plant of its type in the UK.
A more recent project involved the installation of a Tertiary Treatment Plant for Welsh Water to enable the final effluent to achieve a low phosphate level in the final effluent sandfiltration and clarifications.
